Irony

Supremely ironic, that's what racism is. In fact, I could walk into an all brown community and get beaten up because I'm white and supposedly trespassing on their turf. But if a brown or asian person walked into an all white community and got beaten up because he/she was "coloured"; those people could be taken to court for racial discrimination. I get more flak because I'm white than any of my friends get for being brown or asian. And they're the ones giving most of the flak. Excusing idiotic or rude behavior on their skin colour. There's always the underlaying feeling that I am somehow lower or lesser than or just plain not as cool as they are by virtue of the fact that I couldn't control my skin colour. If I could go back and choose the colour skin I was born with, based on what I've learned so far about this world, chances are it wouldn't be white. I'm not saying all brown/asian people are like that; many aren't. But the few that I have met, befriended or spent time with are mostly of that mind set.

I know there are many countries where racism is alive and well and very dangerous, but North America has become so scared of offending anybody that white people have become portrayed as the stupid, nonathletic, evil capitalist pigs of todays society who can't do anything as well as a black/latino/middle eastern/asian person could. There are many different points of view on this subject, and I would love to hear some of them so leave a comment.

Well, today I was looking for something absolutely ridiculous so I could mock it mercilessly, double if its on the big GW. But then I realized, nobody who reads my blog really understands my position on global warming and why I have that position, you all know I hate the idiotic campaigns with their green scarves and electric cars and Kyoto trash but do you know why?

I think global warming is stupid because there is NO scientific evidence to back their "facts" that the world is going to turn into a ginormiguous green house, or that all our polar animals are gonna die because the ice is melting. I mean we had a freakin ICE AGE and yet somehow we're all still here. Its weather patterns bigger than anybody can forecast because we only have approximately 100 years of recorded weather so this pattern is ha-UGE. I found this article a few minutes ago and it's pretty good. I warn you, its like 3 years old but not a lot of this stuff has changed so enjoy!

Why exactly do we care what is on the PM's plate? No honestly, why do we care??? So we can scorn them for over spending on food, so we can berate them for not spending money on more important things like global warming?
Actually, this is holding up an uncomfortable mirror to my own hypocrisy because if this had been a liberal/NDP/bloc plane/PM/cabinet I would be talking about it until I was blue in the face. But because its the Conservatives, I just bash the people who reported in instead. The truth is, any one of us would probably do the same thing in their shoes, if you had the option between filet mignon and a burger, you would probably choose the mignon. Unless you absolutely despise the former in which case you're odd.
This kind of thing came up when people were all huffy over Dion's limo driver spending 14 grand on a hotel and additional expenses, there is a slight difference and I'll talk about that in a sec but its true. We look through lenses tinted the way we want to see, mine are right-hued and some other people wear left-hued shades.
Now about Dion's driver, $14 000!!!!!!!! For crying out loud people, that's where Dion lives! Home life a little to rough? Whatever...

This is bad, this is so very very baaaaaaaaad. There's lots about it on Sandmonkey. I wrote an essay about this kind of thing for Social Studies not too long ago, its not good. I'm apalled at the "credit" stocks and sales and bargaining. Credit trading isn't reducing global warming, its funneling cash into the smaller countries that don't have as many factories or cars or whatever people think cause global warming. Well, whatever.
